From time to time, threads pop up that say things like "I need a quick $200" or "does anyone have a method that can make me a quick $50?"
This is implying that there are methods that can be used in an emergency to make quick money that cannot be used at other times. It's like when you're playing a videogame or RPG and you're about to get killed so you use some special weapon to restore your life or damage all enemies or whatever.
Unfortunately, there is no IM equivalent of that. If there was a method to make "a quick $200 in 24 hours," or whatever people ask for, then people would just do that every day and make $1k per week or $52k per year. That's more than most people make, and that's definitely more than most noob IMers make. Hell, that's more than most experienced IMers make.
And let's not forget rule #1, that profitable methods DO NOT get shared. So even if there was a super quick urgent last-minute hp restoring money-making method, no one who is using it is going to share it with you.
Note that when I say "profitable methods DO NOT get shared," I mean methods that are actually profitable, not hypothetical bullshit like "WRITE ARTICLES WITH AFFILIATE LINKS IN THEM AND MAKE $500 A DAY LOL!" Is that possible? Yes. Is anyone doing it? No. And is the person who shared it doing it? Hell no.
When you have a profitable method, you guard it with your life to preserve your market share. You don't share it with your e-friends on internet forums because if it actually worked and other people started using it, you would lose your market share and make less money.
And btw, from this logic you can extrapolate (correctly) that forex and trading robots/programs also don't work. If you had a trading system that made you a significant amount of money per year, why would you need to sell it for $79? So other people can share in the wealth? Or because it's bullshit and in fact your only income is coming from selling it because you sure as hell don't trade it yourself (because it doesn't work). Remember, if it worked, you're making 6 figures easily... do you really give a shit about a $79 sale here and there? Of course not. Because you sit on the beach all day while your magic ninja Forex robot makes you MAD BANK YO!!1!111one!!
