I should preface this with that I love this tool. They emailed me about a discount if I upgraded, so I followed up with interest. I used the conversation to ask a question about their subscriptions.
When you go to upgrade, you must accurately guestimate the exact minute count of every single video you plan on creating will be. If they go under, you lose the transcription minutes you've paid for. So say you upgrade to the standard $40 plan. If you choose 60 videos/20-minute cap, you better make every video 20 minutes long.
So what if out of 60, 20 videos are only 10 minutes long, and 15 are 1-minute shorts you'll use to promote your long form.... You've just thrown away 20x * 10 mins + 15x * 19 mins = 485 minutes or 40% of the transcription minutes you've paid for.
And this is by design. Not accident. Because once you run beyond the initial subscription, they charge you per transcription minute. I am honestly both disgusted by this and admiring the genius structure of it at the same time. Unfortunately, many subscribers will end up being screwed out of 10%-90% of the transcription minutes they've actually paid for.
I cannot in good faith continue in their affiliate program or even idly allow my fellow BHW members to be ripped off like this. There are too many alternatives.
