Proxy vs VPN?

Sorry for the noob question, I tried to google around and found different sites explaining the difference in how they work but I was wondering how it related to this kind of stuff specifically.

Is there a difference with the sites monitoring traffic like will a VPN look more legitimate than a proxy? I test my proxies on whatismyip and make sure it says No Proxy Detected, but would a VPN add an extra layer of security or something?

Also, will the VPN always show as the same IP or can you have multiple unique IP's per VPN? Right now I've just been creating Superpoints referrals with proxies (25 cents a referral) but I'm trying to learn more profitable techniques by reading the guides and such on this forum.

it really depends on your use. if you are just browsing and protecting your identity, then VPN is ideal. it also costs cheaper than private proxy. regarding showing the same IP, a good vpn provider usually have 100s of IPs and every time you connect, you get a different IP.

about being legitimate, there should not be any difference as its just the IP that matters. not the type if service you got to get the IP. as long as yuo get it form legit service provider, yuo should have good IPs and not the ones in the spam list

if you use tools for scraping/harvesting a lot, like scrapebox, then you will need proxies as vpn dont change IPs soon enough for you to be able to use them for scraping
 
Dont wanna start new topic. Ok, its noob question but essential for me since I wanna spend some cash on various software. so far Ive been using 10 private proxies working with instagram bot, thing is clear for me. Now Im interested into VPN nad VPS subjects. Am I correct that the best solution for BH methods are just insert proxies list into software and let it go? Why I need VPN? because what I understood whenever Im connected to it Im eposed with just one IP and any soft Im running goes through this one IP ?
 
So when I sign up for VPN, I will receive big proxies list to run the program? let say I got scrapebox. Firstly I have to connect to VPN and later set proxies lit in program? Just not sure how those things come together....
 
I use ipvanish. no logs, great bandwidth, and super easy to use. well worth the price.
 
depends on your usage if your creating the odd web2.0 for backlinking the VPN. if your running bots proxy's are needed
 
I dont use them myself but a programmer for a company I'm involved in uses VPN as they're safer.
 
vpn and proxy are different,
vpn will change your ip completely for whole services and applications, you will go to the world(internet) with the vps ip address.

proxies will mask the ip only for specific service.

better is vpn 100%
 
My two cents:

VPN: Is fine for surfing web and doing some normal task.

But if you do heavy seo,Social media marketing etc then comes Proxies.

Proxies: are best for SEO tools,Social media,Web surfing,uploading and downloading etc they are best choice then VPN but use Private proxies not Public crap proxies as public ones is fine for scraping etc.

let me sum things up guys,
VPN allows me to launch seo soft through it but for external world Im seen with one IP ? how come I can for example ping hundread links and not being banned?
Isnt better to use just rotating list of proxies from my computer and do whatever I like - isnt that more safe?
Are we talking here on hidding identity or efficient sotware runs?
I always thought IP its all that matter - the more I got then better

VPN's have caused problems for me because they route every program on your PC through it, which I don't like. I just use private proxies now.
