Is it possible to use a VPN to do the same job as a proxy?

Yes, it is, the only problem is that VPN IPs are saturated.

Okay thanks but it would still be okay? I use Nord VPN, which is pretty good.

Proxies generally provide you big ip addresses pool.

Yes, go ahead if the service you register on does not block you then no problem there.

if your vpn have white listed ip's then it is useful

VPN is just the marketing term for it. It's actually a proxy. VPN, in essence, stands for Virtual Private Network, which offers a gateway into a private network so that local devices can directly see one another over Public Internet. Anonymization is not the intention.
