Proxy question from a noob

Hi guys! I'm new here in BHW and so far I am enjoying my stay and absorbing stuff. Hopefully I'll get my first $$$ soon.

Anyway, I know what a proxy is, I just want to ask why do he have to use it in certain methods and where can we apply this specifically?

You need to use a proxy either to hide your actual location, such as when posting spam so that some pissed off webmaster doesn't try to complain to your ISP or post it publicly. The other reason is so that you can keep posting to the same sites (or platforms) over and over without having your IP banned. For example, Akismet will stop you from posting comments.
