So I'm using scrapebox.... or I was and the campus internet connection blocks me from checking proxies.

Now, if I purchased my own provate proxies, would the campus internet block me from using them via scrapebox?

It depends on how they are blocking you from using proxies. They are probably blocking you from accessing non-standard ports (eg. anything except port 80 for http and port 443 for https), in which case private proxies on non-standard ports would still be blocked. You would have to try it out and see... Test if you can still use proxies on port 80 on your campus connection.
