Proxy Noob - Please Advise!

I am new to proxies and currently comparing/shopping around to find a cheap and good proxies.

I need proxies for GSA SER posting and GSA Keyword Researcher.

I tried one of the dedicated datacenter proxies from a renowned provider and the proxies turned out banned upon testing. I requested a switch ((which is only allowed for 2 times per month) and half of them were again banned at testing and the speed was just about the same as public proxies which is completely unusable for Keyword Researcher. Am I doing something wrong? My thread was set at 100 with 5 sec.

My questions is:

1. I heard shared datacenter proxies are good enough for GSA SER, is it true or do I need dedicated/residential proxies?
2. Do google banned proxies still work on GSA SER? Or am I stuck with them for a month?
3. Do I need residential rotating proxies for Keyword Researcher? Because public and dedicated datacenter proxies didn't even work at all.
4. I noticed providers offer packages by bandwidth/threads/ports and that confuses the hell out of me. If I want 100 threads, how many ports will that be equivalent to?
5. For a starter, is 5GB generally considered enough? My budget is about $50-60 a month. Any good recommendations?

There can be either cheap proxies or good proxies. You cant get them both together. If you can learn to set up a vps, you can create more than a hundred free proxies with trial accounts on vps providers like linode, godaddy, vultr..

Thanks for the tips. But at the moment I am barely catching up with GSA tools. Learning to set up a VPS will be too much. What kind of proxies should I get to run GSA SER & Keyword Researcher without any hiccups? Any recomended providers?

Here's a few ideas for each of your questions. Hope it helps!

1. Datacenter proxies are good for GSA SER. Now, you can use either but the most important bit is you check the quality of the IPs you're rotating. Without excellent proxies, shared or dedicated, GSA search engine ranker posting will not be able to achieve the amount of success that you need.

2. I believe you can just rotate the IP if it gets banned so you can continue as per usual. Be sure to rotate to an IP that hasn't been banned. You may need to take a note of this. Haven't checked on this method in a while so you might have to give it a swing yourself.

3. Based on both answers above, you're going to want quality IPs regardless of shared or dedicated, and you're going to want to be able to rotate the IPs when you need it.

4. I can't say for sure how many you'll need. Sorry, hope someone will be able to answer number 4 with better details.

5. There are great unlimited data proxies across the board you could use. Budget-wise there are relatively cheap but quality options. I say relatively cheap but you'll have to up your budget for it. Can't put a dime on reliability and quality afterall.

Datacenter proxies are good for GSA.

Did you try 4g proxy's ?

Thank you all for kind support. I went on comparing and testing a couple of small providers today that I kind of got a sense of difference. I am going to try out Smartproxy datacenter 100GB tomorrow and see how much difference I will experience.

Wait, let me ask one more question. If I were to choose between rotating proxies and 25 static IP proxies (both datacenter), which one should I choose in terms of processing speed?

My understanding is that rotating IPs can be processed for only one request at a time while 25 static datacenter IP can be processed for 25 requests simultaneously on GSA SER.

Or can GSA SER only process 1 request at a time without being able to utilize multiple IPs at once?

just a little tip to keep in mind, the higher you set your threads for faster scraping
the quicker the proxie will get banned, low thread rates make ban not happen as fast

Thanks for your advice. Yes, for datacenter proxies, I start from 10 and test up around 30. But I try not to go over 50. I learned it from the first datacenter proxies I bought.

But I can blast the threads on the rotating proxies, right? They say there is no thread limit.
