You can use Checked Proxies.com (search it) they give you good lists of proxies in a CSV format-easily put into a txt file.

"checkedproxies".com didn't come up, neither did "checkedproxy"... checkedproxylists checks out and you can download csv lists from it. I grabbed the latest US list, and the csv isn't formatted with the ports in the right format to run a checker against. So, import into excel, semicolon delimited list, then formula =A1&":"&B1 in a new column to make a IP

ort list, copy + paste values into new column, then copy to notepad and import into proxyfirewall and run a test against them.

Results: 277 proxies, 277 bad. Yup, every single one of them is bad. WTF? I have better luck copy/pasting from forums.

Proxies are used to protect your privacy whilst online.
They do this (basically) by appending a different IP address to your web-query.
Your IP address is your fingerprint - and it proves YOU were THERE (wherever that might be) - so obviously, you might like to be aware of this, and act accordingly.

White Hat or Black Hat, there are many reasons why using proxies can be beneficial. However, be prepared to experience some 'lag' times: your internet experience will be slowed down (a lot) - and this is the trade off: PRIVACY vs. SPEED.

I advise anyone new to this concept to visit the Tor Network at www[.]torproject[.]org and check it out.

One last simple explanation of the lists you see above:
These are the web addresses of computers who don't mind you connecting to them, thereby allowing THEMSELVES to act as PROXIES for your web-requests. Check Google - define

You connect to 'Computer A', and 'Computer A' visits 'Website X' on your behalf. Any tracking of who visits 'Website X' will show it was visited by 'Computer A' - and NOT BY YOU! You remain 'Computer ?' - which is just the way we like it, right?
