Proxy Leeching By Hand - Because FPL is stupid

hey whats the difference between manually setting up proxies as explained in the thread as opposed to using auto proxy generating add-ons such as "hidemyass" or "quickproxy" for browsers like firefox.. do these basically have the same function?
 
Thank you. This is one of the best free proxy referrals I have ever received in awhile. I hope I get my confirm e-mail when I join. I didn't for one of the forums of which I was a part.

lorissa isn't around anymore because no1 could stand her.
all she ever did was attack people with little proxy knowledge
berate them and insult them, i had 2 run ins with her on 2 forums
over the last 7 yrs and boths time times i told her to just fck off..
shes mean nasty self centered and doesnt help anyone. long may
she never come back.
