Mobile proxies are usually safer for Reddit because they look more natural residential can work but quality matters a lot so that provider was likely the issue

It seems the issue isn’t the residential proxy or the IP’s country, but rather the unstable proxy provider, which caused the IP to be misassigned and Reddit to become suspicious. For more safety, mobile proxies are usually more reliable and less detectable, but residential proxies are fine too if you choose a high-quality provider with stable IPs.

If the same IP shows up with different flags on different checks, that usually means the provider is recycling or mixing subnets. Reddit catches that fast. A single bad hop is enough to trigger a shadowban, even if everything looked fine earlier.
Mobile proxies are usually safer because the IP ranges rotate naturally and match real carrier behaviour. Residential can work, but only if the provider gives stable, clean, non-reused IPs. If you stick with residential, change the provider.

For social networks in general you want mobile proxies, residential rotating can lead to flagged IP and kill the account pretty much at any point. Mobiles aren't being flagged at all.
As for your particular problem - either your DNS leaked (that's not so proxy problem as your anti-detect browser) or subnet isn't detected properly (happens often in eastern Europe).

I’m still using proxies for multiple accounts and everything’s running perfectly fine. You should look for a high-quality and reputable proxy service — if it’s reliable, you’ll definitely be good to go.

That’s a classic issue with low-quality residential pools - the IP itself didn’t “change country”, it’s just inconsistent or outdated IP geolocation data across databases, which is a red flag for many platforms. Residential proxies can work fine for reddit if they’re clean and have consistent geo/ASN. But many cheap providers mix traffic, resell IPs or use borderline sources. It leads to stuff like this and eventual shadowbans. Mobile proxies are generally safer for reddit because mobile ASN+NAT naturally tolerate more account reuse and GEO fluctuations. The real problem here is the provider quality, not the proxy type.

definitely just a proxy issue, just use mobile proxies.
IP country flipping usually means low quality residential pool, mobile can help but a cleaner residential provider also works. I had similar issues before and switching to Proxytee fixed the geo mismatch problem since their residential IPs stay consistent and don’t randomly reflag mid session.

Get a mobile proxy. Your provider was probably crappy but mobile proxies work way better for reddit. Reddit trusts mobile users more, and you will never have any IP issues.

yeah that just sounds like a shitty provider tbh, not residentials as a whole. if the IP is jumping countries like that it’s gonna look sus no matter what. decent residentials can work fine, but yeah mobile is usually a bit safer if you don’t wanna deal with stuff like this.

your provider may be recycling datacenter or VPN IPs and labelling them as residential. it can get your banned on reddit because reddit is very strict.
