i was thinking of renting space and sell proxy. is it illegal to sell proxy?

Ultimately this would be a local question(depends on where you live) but I've never heard of selling proxies being illegal. Maybe in some really restrictive countries.

No, it is not illegal to sell the proxies. It is totally legal to sell as long as they are not used for illegal purposes such as hacking, fraud or piracy. There are hundreds of vendors who are selling their proxies without any kind of restrictions.

it depends upon the use of proxy.
selling proxy is not illegal but if sold proxy is used for illegal purposes you will also be involved in this.

Selling proxy services isn't inherently illegal. Many companies sell proxies as a legitimate service to help users maintain privacy, bypass geo-restrictions, perform web scraping activities, or manage multiple accounts on certain websites.

However, the legality can get complicated based on how your customers use the proxies. If they're using them for illegal activities (such as hacking, sending spam, or conducting fraudulent activities), you could potentially face legal issues, especially if you were aware of these activities and did nothing to prevent them.

Also, the act of collecting and distributing IP addresses without explicit consent from the individuals or organizations to which they belong can also bring up legal issues related to privacy.

Moreover, certain websites and online services have policies against the use of proxies. If your proxies are used to violate these policies, the websites could take actions such as blocking the proxies or banning the associated accounts.

Yes if done correctly it is completely legal. How you obtain Proxy is what makes it legal or illegal.

For Example – If you decide to release free vpn with 10 servers, get a lot of vpn users, and your vpn client has hidden feature to make residential proxy out of user’s pc (Without their knowledge), this is completely illegal and could land you in trouble.

But if you setup your own hardware + software solutions to create proxies out of your cellular network or broadband network then it is completely legal and legit. You will have to find companies out there who can offer you compatible hardware + Software at affordable price.

Does your country require you to legally register a SIM card in your name? Then you you need to be aware that you are tied to the activities of that SIM card and authorities can track that.
The Mobile ISPs don't really care, but as previously mentioned, you should check what online activities are illegal in your country and then (try) to block does services.

Proxy services are not illegal per se, but specifics may vary by region and usage. In some cases, the use of proxy services may involve illegal activities such as cyber-attacks, abuse of access rights, invasion of privacy, etc. Therefore, you need to carefully understand the local laws and regulations and ensure that your agency services comply with the legal requirements.

Selling proxies isn't illegal. To ensure compliance with the law, it is important to understand and adhere to the country’s regulations regarding mobile proxies. Laws can vary from one jurisdiction to another, so staying informed about local regulations is essential. If you want to have an in-depth understanding of the legality of proxies, just search on Google for "Decoding the Legality of Mobile Proxies" and you'll get your answer.

Then, if you want to sell proxy servers, you can check out brands like Proxidize, Proxywave, etc., which provide a hardware solution using which we can create our own proxy server and sell it.

It was correctly written above that the sale of proxies itself is legal. But if the person who bought the proxies does something illegal on the Internet through them, you may have a problem.

For starters, we can advise you to take these steps to ensure your safety:
1) Block the ability to visit government sites of different countries (especially your country!), bank sites;
2) Keep logs of client connections to your proxy connection; then in case of anything, you will have proof that all actions were not done by you personally (but make sure that the logs are stored securely so that you don't get in trouble with the personal data law!);
3) Consider entering into a contract to buy and sell a proxy connection. You can use one of the many online contracting services;
4) Favor buyers who are willing to explain the purpose of the proxy purchase.

In general, if you are only reselling proxies obtained from some other service, the situation can be much easier. But here a lot depends on the proxy provider service you choose.

If you have specific questions on this topic, we can pass them on to our lawyer and ask for an answer. Write here or send us a direct message, we will be glad to help you.
