Proxies

Hey, so I understood that I must have a proxy to make it all work out well.
So may I have some real quick explanation of how to helps and which proxy should I get.
I saw people talking about a IPv6 which is a lot cheaper than a regular one but I really didn't understand how does it all work.

Any explanations would be great & a link for a decent proxy.
