proxies?

Hey all. Don't know if this is the place to post this.. but most other BHW forums I tried posting in wouldn't allow me to post at all. So here goes.

Got 25k emails I need verified. Got a program and found several sites that sell the port 25 proxies.

How many proxies will I need for that kind of job?
Do they need to be in different countries or what?

Basically I'm new to this and I don't wanna get fleeced. Would appreciate any any advice. Thanks.

As to your question, it depends on how the domain names are distributed on your email database.

If they're all Gmail, for example, you're gonna need hundreds of proxies (and will be hard to make inbox even if verified). If they're all mixed up, then you can hammer each proxy a little more and you'd need less proxies.

So you need tens to hundreds, can't really say without knowing the email db itself. Hope this helps.

I estimate at least half of the database are gmail accounts. Basically I used Atom Park's online email verifier to go through the list, which got out a bunch of emails whose domains were dead, etc, but it wasn't until I paid for the service that it emerged that it doesn't actually check gmail or yahoo. So I bought the desktop version which supposedly checks them but requires port 25 open. It's just surprise after surprise with those guys. But what can I say.. I've researched email programs across the internet, and Atom Park are the only guys who seem to really be trying to give us the tools to more or less take care of these kinds of things ourselves.

Now that I think about it, there's not much point running this entire list through the desktop version when I already ran it through their online version. Might as well only run the gmail/yahoo/major ISP addresses through it. So that's probably gonna be around the 10k mark.

So I'm gonna need hundreds of proxies just to check if these addresses exist? And even then it's not guaranteed to work? Do they need to be scattered across countries? This is starting to sound like it's gonna cost a couple of Franklins. It's not like that's gonna break my bank, but maybe there's not even a point finding out if every single email is active as long as the honeypots and spam traps have been weeded out, no?

It's an expensive business.

Why don't you send the emails without testing? The best tests still won't get through Gmail's extensive antispam. Send your emails with a trcker and see which ones did inbox and mark those, that's how most MLM do it.

Yeah. Eff it. Life's too short for this shit. I don't see other email marketers sweating this kind of thing, and I'm trying to send out a fraction of what they send out in a day.
For the record, does this program verify accounts by sending them an actual email? I thought it just... pings them or something.

There are several methods of verification. One of them involves a 3rd server that may be provided by your software - in which case the software provider is getting a free copy of your verified email list ;)

How it works is it places a pixel somewhere in a test message. If that pixel shows, it's marked live. Also if any of the targets reply to the email, it gets marked live. These programs use a combination of these techniques in order to test emails.

PS. This is why you never reply to a spammer telling them to go fuck themselves. Also you don't autoload remote images in emails.
