I've searched around but can't seem to find the exact answer to my question.

Why is it so important to use proxies when posting with Scrapebox?

I'm not a total noob, so I do understand the concept of proxies and how it's a good way to cover your tracks. So is the answer as simple as that?

I know akismet bans domain name and not IP address. So that cant' be the main reason...Is it that we don't want to end up in a spammer database and blacklisted from sites that ban visitors based off that list?

Or is it all of the above?

See what I'm really after is to know if Google discounts back links that look spammy and all from the same IP address? That doesn't make much sense though....Google can't see the IP address posted to blog comment right? -- they do look at the user name and e-mail maybe so that's why I rotate those fields when doing a blast.

So....say if were to always use my IP address when blasting comments, what kind of trouble can I expect to come my way?

Look forward to hearing feedback.

lets just say spam thousands of comments from your home ip
all the above and a few more - not including possible report to
your isp as well.
why u think the rule is
private proxies to post
public proxies to scrape
its been this way over a year for a reason.

what about with auto approve blogs? Obviously no ones really moderating them

and u think that makes a difference when spamming
on your home ip without the use of proxies..
why u think everyone on the plannet uses proxies?
for fun? no because if u dont u end up on a whole
heap of sh$t

You need proxies either to protect your connection to the Net at home/office or to avoid your VPS/dedi account being closed.

For scraping there's a different reason why you need them.
Just do a little test and take 1000 keywords, use your home IP and start harvesting.
After a while SB will come to a grinding halt. Google blocked your IP...
Eventually it will clear again (can take hours) but all this time you can't continue with your project.

thanks everyone...very helpful.

i just got scrapebox....but i've been using my own comment poster that I developed in c#.net. It's not half bad...it also has a URL harvester and other cool functions. I got my site on page 1 for music search engine. I'm a bad a$$ programmer but got intermediate SEO skills and learn more everyday from this amazing site.

I just got scrapebox because I had to see what all the hype was about. Sure enough it blew me away. I'm obviously going to use it along with my software. I'm also working on a profile creator and some other cool stuff at the moment.

I haven't been using proxies for anything. You guys helped me realize how stupid I am for that.

So who got the proxy hook up?

if your a basic scrapebox user
using 10 private proxies to blast per month is usualy
enough.
then u need a source or public proxies to scrape with
thats it realy..

could you pleased PM me the details to get my proxies through you. US currency please.
