Proxies or VPN?

On a VPN, does that just route your web browser through the VPN or will it route all apps too?

I personally use both depending on the activity I'm doing, suffering the web calls for a VPN, but managing account should be proxies.
You can also use a VPN if your creating an account and then not worried about connecting to it again.

Also, it's important for everybody to know that your VPN can still leak you IP. It's good to do some checks with a DNS Checker site.

This is true, though there are tools to protect from this. You could face DNS leaks, WebRTC leak among others. the Perfect Privacy VPN Manager blocks most of them, also prevents any traffic to flow if VPN should disconnect ever.

Thanks for this. I'm using the stock OpenVPN UI, config files and a DNS leak script. I've been looking for an easier UI ... and this has extras.

I prefer to use different proxies

A VPN should route all your traffic, because it sits at a lower network level then most application specific proxies. What is a better option depends on your needs, pricing, etc. Remember, encryption is important too, and not all proxies offer this.
