Proxies or VPN?

I want to do some scraping of Amazon and so need some proxies or VPN solution. Think I will need it to have the proxies rotate so I don't get captchas etc.

On a VPN, does that just route your web browser through the VPN or will it route all apps too?

You can try a heavy package to rotate proxies yourself.

It's up to you. Please note, one VPN = one IP.
 
I mean "a lot" of IPs. About 1k or something, depending on your needs.

Where did you ever draw that conclusion from? Have you ever used HideMyAss to automatically rotate your IP every 5 minutes and have a cache refresher active every 5 minutes?

Op, regarding other VPN's, I haven't tested to that extent to see if all apps/web browsers etc were on the new ip's that I was switching to, but I know hidemyass switches your IP for pretty much everything connected to the internet. Just clear your cache each time you switch.
 
Dont use hide my ass if your doing anythink shady, they log Everythink and work hard with the revalent authorities, many hackers have been jailed over hid my ass becouse they dont beleve in the privacy act , in over words they act as detectives and create logs and repots about ppl activities and make complaints to local authorities

Hide my ass also work with the tax office ,so if you was to earn a good income trust me
hide my ass will be the ones telling the tax man how much and where you are.

Try to use a vpn that dont log your info and activity.

For amazon scraping or any site scraping best option is proxies.
 
You definitely need proxies but how many is hard to tell. Every site uses different limits :)

Not really true ,I use a lot of VPN's as proxy and rotate through them just like proxies . One might need to write some code if your VPN provider does not provide straightforward way to use their service as a proxy , but its not hard either .

But I would go with proxies anytime i have the option and luxury.

Can you cite some sources on this? I've been using HideMyAss for years and I do my taxes each year. I've also never been arrested. I've scraped 100000's of URLs and I've used it for other things as well.

You must not know about integrating HideMyAss with scripting languages or even scripts that have already been written. It's easy. Don't always assume it's impossible because you've never done it.

i go buy what i no for fact.

by the way when it comes to scripts i have my own computer degree/ masters and also
donate my time to the php society in php programming , i am no full and created a professional name on programming and can hold my self in any challange of php

so yes i no my game ,and no coding for over 20 years my friend.

most programming lanuages to me like drinking water but i have gave up programming and know do internet marketing.

Why are proxies best for scraping amazon?

Its an app I will be using to scrape with rather than a browser and it doesn't have a facility to add proxies to it. Therefore, I figure I would need some kind of OpenVPN thing or something to rotate the proxies and have all my internet traffic go through it? What say you? If I want to rotate proxies, what app should I use? I was thinking about buying 5 anon proxies and running a test.

Ha. Please. Your half assed bragging because you feel challenged. You're rubbish with that, mate. If you don't know that you can integrate HMA with a script/bot, then you don't know coding at all. And if you DID know that beforehand then you should have just said so.
