So for a new site my friend is launching I intend to do the following. Please give me your thoughts/comments/feedback on each item and I have a few questions along the way. The site is brand new HOWEVER the domain is about 7 years old (he secured it a long time ago), so consider this factor when reviewing my techniques.

1. Publish 5-10 new articles of original quality content (Written by him) each day on his blog, tagged with proper keywords

2. build 10-20 manual links each day
A. I will do this by publishing his articles to sites that are relevant to his content (5-9 a day)
B. Comment on relevant blogs with a link to his site
C. Do guest blog posts on other sites (he is building his relationships now)

3. Social media, create facebook, twitter, tumblr and being social media campaign.

4. Start small adwords campaign, within his budget. (Does this actually help seo besides for the paid clicks?)

MY FIRST QUESTION: Is 10-20 manual links of quality content too much for a new site? If so what would you start with and how would you build up to this number?

SECOND: Is publishing around 10 articles a day too much, considering it is all unique original and quality material who wrote?

I read a bunch of these forums and the consensus is that too much content is really only an issue when it is not quality. Many people do not know about SEO and have their sites show up on the front of google because they just publish really quality material. Please give me your thoughts and advice

*Ding* *Ding* *Ding* We have a winner. 10-20 or even 50 or 100 isn't an issue so long as they truly are quality backlinks. Another thing is to remember to build consistently. 10-20 per day is 10-20 PER DAY. Not 10-0-20-50-10... That sorta on-off link building is what ruins a lot of good quality SEO campaigns.

Another thing is to not be phased. If you get demoted continue to post like everything is fine and dandy. You're only making their case for your unnatural link building stronger if you don't post when you're demoted.

Good luck.

about publishing 5-10 articles a day I would say that is pretty much, will take quite some time to write all those articles and it won't help that much, i think 1-2 per day should be great, after that just concentrate on linkbuilding....just my 2c

I don't know if it's necessary to write that many articles unless you have a plan to build a news site. Save yourself some money and time and scale that down a little bit, and I think you might see results that are just as good.

What exactly does that mean? Guestblogging? You say guestblogging later on, so confusing there. Def a bit of work you have there. Don't burn out.

Guestblogging I mean writing blogs on others sites and allowing them to write blogs on mine.

I have a question about building back links. When I am doing the anchor text, do I just need to stick to the same 10-15 keywords or any words are fine for the anchor text?

You want to have your main keywords in the anchor text a good amount but at the same time you want to have some other keywords or your website url. Maybe something like "click me" too to ensure diversity.

As long as you vary your anchor texts you'll be fine. Make sure you don't use one keyword as an anchor text more than 50-60 percent of the time.

What is a rule of thumb for how many links I should have coming back to my site on any given blog post, facebook share, directory submission?

I meant, what does "A. I will do this by publishing his articles to sites that are relevant to his content (5-9 a day)" mean?

Because you say that AND you mention guestblogging after. Like they are 2 separate things.

No rule of thumb, just keep doing it until you rank. Could be 20, could be 2000
