So my daughter graduated from University a few months ago, getting a first in Computer Game Design. She worked her socks off and we are very proud of her.

She was hired a few weeks before she graduated by a games company and started in the QA team, literally playing Rust all day on Xbox, PS and PC to find bugs. You should see her desk setup!

She was put in charge of releasing and managing the new Rust community servers and now gets her name in the game credits, which I think is awesome (going to frame that).

Cool job. She's a decent programmer but hoping she can work her way into narrative one day.

Her mum and I were a little concerned as we know it is a crowded/hard industry to get into but super proud of her determination to achieve it.

If she can literally play video games for a living (she now has her own house), imagine what we can do in SEO.

That’s awesome, nothing better then a proud dad moment, wish her more success.

That sounds awesome congrats.

Congrats! Nice to hear positive stories like this ;)

Congratulations. Wish her the best in life.

Congratulations to your daughter, as that is a great accomplishment. She will flourish and wish you and your family the best.

Thank you for the good wishes. The new update went out today and she officially has her name in the credits  I am going to get that framed for her, and me!

Congratulations to you as a parent who was wise enough to let your daughter pursue her passion and not say that she spends too much time playing games.

what is rust?

Video game - https://rust.facepunch.com/

A programming language. Very cool, best of luck for all of you!

She's a decent programmer, surpassed me a few years ago but I remember coding with her from the age of 8. By the time she got to 18, I was asking her for help. She wants to get into the narrative side of the industry in the future, that is her end game.

She was always very sensible when it came to her time management. Get homework and assignments done day 1, game the rest of the time. She also played a lot of sports, so exercise was never a worry. Not sure we had any option when she got to 16, she knew what she wanted and no-one was going to stop her. To be honest, I went with her to checkout college courses and talk with tutors, I would have happily gone on the same courses as her, they were superb and lots of fun, but who wants their old dad cramping their style at college and University :D

It's nice when you realize you've raised a good person. Congrats my man!

I would like to take some credit but I think most goes to my wife. Maybe she got her stubbornness from me. Kid did well, gets her coding and mathematics from me and creativity and writing from her mum. Lucky kid, I am the least creative person you could ever meet.

Really inspiring, hope she continues to shine in future as well!

Thank you, nice of you to say that.

Congtars, she surely worked hard for it.

That’s neat job, congrats to her! :)
