    Any tips?

Flip a GPLUS into a GMB? Leave alone?

    Schema? Lat GEO? KML?
Add oneself to GPS maps? Apple maps?

My only wish is that I had some idea what exactly you are talking about with all these acronyms. Seems like I'm not the only one who still doesn't know what you are asking though. Perhaps you should clarify your question.

Sure, I apologize for not being clearer. I figured everyone else was in the know and I was the noobish one.

I am talking about how a google plus or a google my business page holds up for local with all the tips and tricks.

If I have a Plus page already, do I leave it alone or flip it into a my business page?

I see some people claiming Schema adds some power or flavoring to what you already have on a Gplus or GMBiz page.

I also heard that some MAP programs for GPS locations backwards assists you in some instances of local searches. My guess would be the APPLE one.

Figure I would ask. I don't "know" any real answers, I just have a keen interest in local as I am a service business.

Verify your Google my business listing and add some nice images etc to it along with a description. Get some reviews on it as well and you will see they do drive good traffic to your website. Google my business listings are a quick win as they are not too tricky to setup and are a great addition to your overall web presence. Good luck!

It was google trying to push every one to its google plus platform and hence the mix up of google plus local page and the google local places for business.
Right now you should still verify the google plus local page.
Google places for business: This is where you control what google shows to other people when they search for your business (G maps) info such as hours of operation, map pin etc..(basic google properties)
Google plus local : This helps the info shown in the search/knowledge box in SERP .
basically you are creating your brand page here and mainly to connect socially.
At present you can manage your G+ from your GMP dashboard. Both have many overlapping functions and properties and it is advisable to optimize both to be on a safer side.
