I have been doing online stuff for about 2 years now, and have never really generated anything that will last "long term"

I'm currently working on two websites trying to update them almost every day if time permits.

I have done all the onsite SEO that I can, however I was wondering if my off site seo techniques for generating back links was good or should I add more to it?

Currently I create my new posts, wait a couple of days until it gets indexed into google, then I submit the article to ezine articles (should I re-write some of the article or just copy and past it as is?). And then I comment on some blogs PR 3 or higher in my niche.

That is all I'm doing right now every day, should I continue doing this or should I add more?

I have been also following a regime like this also, but I also added in lots of pinging and social bookmarking and social network linking also.

Make sure each post you make is targeted towards an easy keyword that has both low competition and high searches per month. You might want to get Micro Niche Finder or Market Samurai to do this research.

How are you monetizing? Adsense? CPA? What are the goals you have from internet marketing?

Yes, I have finally figured out why most people say the most important aspect before you start anything is the niche. I've found 2 niches, 1 that according to google keyword tool is searched about 137,000 times a month with only about 1 million indexed pages. I know this can earn a big chunk of change with just adsense because a friend of mine has a key phrase which is 2 words as well but with 2 million indexed pages and about 110k searches a month. He currently earns about $120 a day just in adsense.

I'm not monetizing anything just yet because I read somewhere on this forum that putting adsense up right away is a bad thing if you don't have any visitors because Google will look at your website as "spammy" and just there to earn some quick money. So I'm going to wait until I start seeing some traffic and then monitize it with adsense, and then in the future add some CPA offers from clickbank relating to my niche and hopefully if it works out like I plan, open a e-commerce side as well.

Mr.Anderson - I also ping, but what do you mean by social bookmarking? I don't really get what that means and it is thrown around everywhere I read. Social network linking is just signing up for websites like facebook, twitter, myspace, etc. and promoting your link correct?

There is a lot of very nice bookmarking services here in the buy/sell services section. It will help you a lot.

Outsource everything you can, check the thread and the people comments. There is always a good service provider here for your need.

I recommend to you to use a xrummer blast service, This will help you a lot with the traffic and the backlinking
