Proof that Google Adsense doesn't pay? ..or am I doing something wrong?

Hello BHW!

I run a blog and it is monetized with Google Adsense with two ads per post.

These are my results over the past 5 months.
I started a campaign with content lockers from OGads about a month ago and have already made more.

Would you's recommend monetizing it in a different way or am I doing something wrong?

Adsense earnings can vary based on the industry niche and the terms being targeted. Sometimes it might make more sense just trying to sell ads directly on your own or trying alternative ad networks. I would always advise that try to sell ads directly, if possible, to ensure recurring stable revenue and to use adsense for periods you don't have slots to fill.

Those numbers are pretty atrocious... you need to explore some other ways to monetize your traffic.

I'd look at some CPA offers, Amazon, CJ or something to generate more revenue for that site.

Try interstitials and bottom-anchor ads. Google has special page-level ads for mobile that anchor to the bottom of the screen. Not sure if this is enabled for all adsense accounts. But there are wordpress plugins that will do similar things.

That was roughly my rate when monetizing a general news site with adsense. Just banners and such. Needless to say, I no longer pursue anything 'news' related.

As a very easy option to test, try out Amazon native shopping ads for the next month. They can fit right into the same types of banner spaces that adsense would. It's getting ready to be shopping season, and Amazon is the king of conversion.

All you need is an Amazon affiliate account, but if you're doing anything weird onsite be careful bc they will ban you quick without explanation.

In my experience, Adsense is garbage unless you have niche-focused sites related to financial services, insurance, investing, legal advice, etc.. where you can get $10+ per click.
