There is a free website called "Paper Rater" that I used a few times that is supposed to check grammar, spelling, as well as plagiarism.

I have whitesmoke, but I don't recommend it. It's really buggy (on my poc computer anyway). The best one I have used is Grammarly. It's online...you just paste in your articles and it analyzes grammar, spelling and all that stuff. I have my VAs using it and it has drastically improved their stuff.
