I own a promotional products company and we sell locally but I want to begin getting more traffic from Google.
I own a custom domain for our company which has been registered for about 2-3 years without any link building. However we can also build free online stores through our distributors website, and these sites are hosted on their main domain, i.e. http://www.theirsite.com/custom-aprons or http://www.theirsite.com/embroideredlogos, etc. Their main domain is PR5+ while ours is at a PR0 without any link building.
My question is this - which would be better, setting up multiple sites through their domain and spamming them (since the main domain is powerful and could handle it), or trying to build the authority of my own domain?
It seems like the latter option is better for branding but I have a feeling using the distributed approach with separate pages on their main domain would allow me to rank more quickly.
What do you guys think?
