Promoting sindicated articles

Hello to all members of BHW.

I have couple of questions, and your input would be highly appreciated.

Some time ago one of the publishing houses started publishing my articles in their printed magazine as well as on their web portal. My links are included in articles, and this makes me very happy.
In non-formal conversation with one of editors I was told that other web sites are syndicating articles from publisher's web site which include mine articles as well.
She is not sure how many websites are syndicating and which sites are taking my articles. She just gave me one url sample that included my writing. My links were included there as well.

My questions would be: Is there any tool for me to find out which sites are syndicating my articles and backlinking to my sites? What I tried didn't give me results, even for sample site I was given.
Second question would be: If and when I find those websites should I somehow promote those pages to get more power to back links and what would be the best method?

hm, if you got links within those articles pointing to your website, those count as regular backlinks. You should use something like Ahrefs, MajesticSEO, OSE or something free (http://www.openlinkprofiler.org/) and check out your sites backlink profile/locate those syndicated articles.

You can send GSA/SAPE or any other type of links to those syndicated articles since they count as parasites and are able to handle anchor(volume)bombing.

you should look at them very carefully of what they are doing and how. It can have a bad effect for you

I guess you get links from different websites pointing at your various websites, is that correct? If you use backlink checkers like ahrefs, you should be able to find those links.

You may also take a snippet of your article and post it in google search (a couple of sentences) and see what the results turn up. This can show you who is using your content without giving you a link or even the ones that do but not showing up in the link checkers.

I was using openlinkprofiler but I can't see this new sites in the list, even I know they are linking to my pages. Maybe it take some time for indexing? I will check some of the other tolls that you suggested. Thank you.

What exactly should I look for? One major site publish my article and smaller sites are syndicating them. Should I try to prevent this?

That is correct Lauren. I will check ahrefs tool.

Hi jdog37, thank you. I just tried this and interestingly enough some Facebook group showed up in search but not original site that published article. I am guessing Google indexed facebook page but not source of post.

Ahrefs and Google quotes search operator can help you find sites using your content and linking to yours. Before building GSA links to the linking pages, make sure they are on authority sites that can handle lots of new links without any problems. If they are on sites with low authority, build tiered links/Sape to them.

Thank you SEO Power. This is very useful answer for me. When I find all sites that are linking to me I will start building links to them.
