Promoting Pump.fun on Twitter - legal?

I have a large Twitter following and I frequently receive messages asking me to promote their pump fun link for $100+ per promotion.
And they only need me to leave it up for 5-10 minutes before then asking me to delete.

They tell me they use software to do all the trading, so not sure if they are 'pulling the rug' with people or not.
But regardless, all I'm doing is simply promoting it.

What are people's thoughts on whether it's legal and/or whether it's against Twitter's rules - as if you do a Twitter search, thousands of these pump fun links appear.

Rug Pools are illegal, and promote them, but you can use a shady way.

You could not promote them but "to talk" about the project and the "expert's" forecasts of the price

There are strict advertising rules in some countries, where you have to declare your connection, and that you are or aren't an owner. Typical though the promise of a few bucks, and you're willing to break the law and take the risk. Many influencers have been charged, with committing a relevant fraud over the years, because they are promoting offers on their Instagram.
 
It will depends on your ethics and personal believes. Let's be honest, despite being illegal, nobody is suffering legal consequences for this kind of act, I know some big influencers on X (more than 1M followers together) that are running several rug pulls every week and nothing happens, since it's hard to trace them and take legal actions in such an international case.

However, if you are serious, you won't want to use your own audience as exit liquidity to pay lambos for scammers in exchange of $100 for you, which means peanuts for them

Guess I could always charge more. People are always risking their money when they buy into these memecoins so they should already be aware they are gambling and run the risk of losing their stake.

Is there a way of finding out how much these people are earning? I did look at one who paid me and their balance appeared to be around $7,000. A few days later he mentioned he was working with $20,000.

I need his software!
 
you're basically letting them use ur acc to spam rugs, create one yourself instead
 
Your account will start to lose credibility and you will lose your community, consider it if you want to make a lot of money from it but take the risk that you will lose your communty

The thing is, I'm only tweeting for 5-10 minutes and then deleting the tweet. And I have 'normal' tweets either side of that promotion.

I've tracked my followers and I'm not seeing any difference.

How many followers and interactions do you have if you don't mind me asking?
 
Strictly speaking, you can't promote them. You can make discussions about them and whether or not that entices your audience to go for them entirely on their own volition, well, that's more of a grey area.

You absolutely can promote crypto for payment. Unless the dev tells OP he's going to rug then it's 100% legal to promote it.

Those influencers were insiders with a stake in the coin. They directly financially benefitted from tricking people into buying it. That's very different than promoting some random coin you aren't affiliated with for $500.

I mean, do you think NBC got in trouble for airing Enron commercials?

hundreds of pages promote rug pulls and 99% of the time nothing happens to them

even the owners of the projects 99% of the time nothing happens to them either

personally i wouldn`t take the business because it feels morally wrong but its up to you
 
nothing will happens with you, but think twice before doing that, if you are a good guy, your conscience might be affected by helping scammers
