I know that you can't use an official advertisement through Instagram to promote the sale of firearms (or in my case, a giveaway), but are you allowed to pay influencers to promote your website that sells firearms? Ideally, I would have influencers post a graphic on their account that states the details of my giveaway and has instructions to follow my account and sign up with their email in the link in my bio. Is this something that I could get away with on Instagram? Any advice or expertise on the subject is welcomed.

May be fanpage type of accounts can be helpful

Sounds like a great idea. I heard Instagram is great for fashion, pets, fitness and firearms :)

Technically against IG Guidelines

Instagram is not a place to support or praise terrorism, organized crime, or hate groups. Offering sexual services, buying or selling firearms, alcohol, and tobacco products between private individuals, and buying or selling illegal or prescription drugs (even if legal in your region) are also not allowed.

But I have done pages related to firearm accessories and pocket knives and did some promotion just fine, if you are pitching to a targeted audience where you don't have people reporting you then I would say you are fine.

My main concern would be to invest a lot of money to build a massive following and have it all taken away when someone inevitably is offended and reports the page. It seems my options are to either do a giveaway of something that is in the same niche as firearms and gather their emails to then later promote firearm sales outside of Instagram, or to create a bunch of Instagram accounts that I wouldn't mind losing and have influencers send traffic their way to promote my gun giveaway.

This

You got it figured out, things get a lot easier on IG when you use it as a lead generation tool, and not a method of promotion and monetizing on the actual platform.

Get several accounts running, run your promos and gather the data. Sometimes its not worth it to be running and maintaining a page in sensitive niches like this always in fear of getting accounts banned

I think the strategy I'm going to go with is a combination of both. I'll make one main page that is in the survival/outdoor niche that posts safe/acceptable content by Instagram's guidelines (with no link in bio yet), and create several other accounts that run primarily on automation with the giveaway link in their bio. I will then contact influencers, have them post a graphic detailing the giveaway with the steps to 1. Follow @(main account), 2. Follow @(child account), and 3. Click link in @(child account)'s bio and enter email address. This way, I have a big account in a similar niche to use in the future and I can also promote my main giveaway and direct traffic to it.

Thoughts on this method?

Firearms shops related links are allowed on social media sites? I never saw anyone promoting a site that sells guns. Dark web is another thing.

When someone report your pages then you are over.

Here in the US, you can purchase firearms directly online. Then they are shipped to your local firearm dealer where you have to pass the verification and pay fees to pick them up. You used to be able to buy ammo and get it shipped straight to the door, but things have changed.

Good ol 'Merica

The beauty of having the child accounts is that if they are reported and suspended, you make new ones.

If you are using child accounts and do not care get banned, I think that's will work.

I would recommend to be carefull.
remember the "russian| guy who promoted firearms on youtube and got popular ?
FBI and CIA did everything to jail him so his promotions stop.

In the end they raided his house and found half an onze of weed for which he got 2.5 years where he was lucky as there was a possibility of 25 years.

His nick was fpsrussia
