Promoting at my university

Hey everyone,

Me and a buddy of mine have a fantastic idea for a site. We're doing it 50/50 and he's in charge of coding and designing and I've gotta promote it. How would you go about promoting it at your school (and it will eventually open up at other schools.. Facebook style), other then the regular flyers on the school walls?

beer pong tables, parties, slip flyers under dorm room dorms, flyers on their doors too, and last but certainly not least, at parties - have a few of the hotter girls write in black marker on their cleavage with the site name, without the .com

another good way is to use the school's email system. if you do it right you can send an email to every single student. but i haven't done that because i don't want to get in trouble before i graduate

make a couple of fake facebook accounts and add loads of people at your uni. Their easy to get because 1) you can search by uni and 2) if its like my uni, everyone joins pages for the local clubs, so you can just get people from there. Most people will accept your friend request if you say you go to the same uni as them because they'll probably think they met you on a night out when they were drunk.

Once you've added them then invite them to a facebook page you've created about your site.

I've seen a couple of people do this with my uni with a student discount site, it got a few thousand sign ups in a month and its still prelaunch.

I have a client (they sell beauty products)-- they have a "college ambassador" program where cute girls wear t-shirts promoting the site and the product, hand out free samples, give presentations in their classes, etc. They also make the girls affiliates and have them sell on campus. I would take ALL of the ideas in this thread and do all of them until something catches on!!

Sounds like someone has had some good launches over here . But really it sounds good especially the girls part that always works and will always work. (Sex Sells it just that simple)

Haha , never thought of this. However its hard as not many of the students have it turned on
