Promote product on twitter to users who shared an article? Possible?

I think I found a good niche for a product on Amazon.

Is it effective to promote the product via Twitter who users who posted a newsarticle link?

I've started to register a few different Twitter handles, and have started a few scripts to gain followers. But these scripts are basically based on a list of followers from a niche-related account.

How does one build followers based on a link in Twitter?

Is this even a worthwhile method?
