Howdy folks.
the response to this is likely going to be painfully obvious, but not only has it long been in the back of my brain for years, but over the past several months i've been approached several times.... I'm really thinking about at least giving it a shot:
I run several sites, like many here. I've also collected quite a database of reputable dropshipper's. Lately I've been running ad's on my most trafficked site to explore if there is interest in other somewhat related industry/product lines/goods (who say's commiss-ion junk-tion is useless? use them to your advantage and get paid while doing so, right?) ...
because of this little game i play, i've identified several markets (and have the drop shippers standing by) i think hold real promise and will likely support themselves with the traffic coming off this 'flagship' site.
at any rate, that is the background. the question(s) are:
1: What is the limitation of using my drop shippers to drop ship through my stores to other stores? why aren't more people doing this? effectively wholesale, yes- which means less margin, but.... enough volume counters that, no?
2: (this tags directly into what i was approached about) what is the drawback to selling 'ready built stores' and literally selling a disc/drive with all the files and settings pre-staged, and a list of server settings to request of a buyers host once a buyer has purchased their store? the idea is to have a product API installed that feeds off the 'flagship's' inventory... meaning- making the buyers effectively 'affiliates' but yet still managers/owners of their own stores...
this can't be an original though- there has to be someone who is doing this here.. for those of you this approximates, what are the in's and out's? what is the significant obstacle?
thanks in advance!
