Just saw another suggestion about AI, at this point we all know that BHW allows AI comments, as long as they are minimally useful, not spammy and coherent with the thread. If you see something AI generated, just report and let them take their decision.

But my suggestion today would be to completely prohibit AI answers on Dispute Resolution. In that specific section, I don't think it should be allowed under any circunstance. More than once (not only yesterday), I saw AI generated answers, generally these tools are used by the accused (who is usually banned because he is a lazy scammer).

In any case, guilty or not, I think the bare minimum we should expect from a dispute is a human answer. Using AI responses to answer serious accusations is disrespectful to everyone involved. It's disrespectful to the potential victim and also to the moderators who will have to waste their time reading useless fluff instead of organic responses.

I imagine that all the sellers here have enough understanding of English to write a short text or a direct reply, I don't believe there are any legitimate sellers here who can't create a basic sentence. English is not my first language as well, probably this text has some minor mistakes, but you can still likely understand my general idea. Use Deepl to directly translate your text instead of using AI if this is your excuse.

For now, I see that AI answers are currently allowed on Dispute Resolution threads. Not very welcome, not respected, but still allowed. I think the correct procedure would be to add this on BHW rules, delete the answer, issue a warning and make it clear: don't waste our time, at least take the time to answer it with your brain and fingers, this is the minimum we could expect from a legit seller.

I can see what you're driving at here, and I know the example you're referring to.

However, myself and @BassTrackerBoats deal with 90% of disputes and unapproved dispute threads and we have not noticed a big problem on this front. Yesterday was a rare example of this happening that we've seen and although I don't disagree with what you're saying, I don't think this happens enough for us to put in place any rules about it.

This is not a very common situation, but taking precautions would be a very appropriate decision.

a lot of people might struggle with english and use chatgpt to put forward their thoughts properly, so i guess that might be helpful?

I mean using AI should not be prohibited, if the seller's main language is not English and if they use AI to correctly structure and fix grammatic mistakes.

Also, I understand using AI can really make your responses "better" than human which would make you look better in disputes as knowledgeable and professional even when you are not.

I understand obvious AI is really easy to identify, but the better models can generate a realistic and humanlike response and at that point it would turn into witch hunt, "HE IS USING AI, I KNOW IT" and then we have no way to verify it.

AI is everywhere, and we cannot just deny it anymore. We can allow like tags that people can put for example. "This response was written with the help of AI" but would people use it?

We have to accept that people in disputes will use AI against each other and we know that AI can never lose an argument because they always have so much data and even when you are losing or in the wrong, it can make you really look good.

That's why evidence and facts come first.

I am seeing your threads from last two days don't feel offended, but you are trying to teach everyone something and that is frankly I am not welcoming. AI should be permitted up to a limit. I met few members who were not good at English so they use it. What's wrong in it? If it is for someone's good it is good.

I should ignore all those comments using this language excuse, because those guys didn't even read what I wrote. I've already answer that, if you are not good at English, just use a translator. There is a huge difference between using a translator and using an AI. I myself use DeepL a lot to interact here, it just translate what I'm saying, it doesn't add fluff or useless garbage like AI does, I've already said that, but those lazy spammers don't even read, English is not my first language as well, this excuse is just bullshit.

If you want to use AI, at least give a good prompt like ''just translate this shit, don't add anything, just translate each word'', and it will be fine.

at least be direct and say what I'm trying to teach, I'm just giving suggestions to improve this forum, ideas to be discussed, not trying to impose anything, healthy discussions are welcome as far as I know

yes, it was used yesterday as you remember
but this dispute was also full of AI answers: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/dispute-mohamed-aboelez-v-software-monster.1719022/
if it's still not concerning enough, I hope it can become a thing in the future if this problem becomes more frequent

this English issue was already answered from the first post - much better using a translator than a bla bla bla generator

no, it doesn't make it better, it just makes you sound suspicious or amateur enough to not put effort to just write your own answer like an average person, it makes you seem below average human intelligence. I hope those guys start using AI to generate BSTs, so we can avoid buying from them since the beggining

the previous usages of AI on the dispute resolution (few examples for now), are obvious, we are not in this future yet, they are very easy to be recognized

AI can lose an argument all the time, they were trained, it's not even AI, wrong name, it's just LLM, a fancy parrot repeating what it was taught to repeat, it's not this invencible god you mentioned, yesterday a scammer used it and they kicked him out, it loses an argument all the time when the user behind it is simply wrong

seems reasonable, but AI is here to stay

I guess as long as the replies are helpful, AI is ok

I'm pretty sure it's widespread on the site. I know people responding to selling reviews are using it because all the responses are the same.

If it was up to me I would ban it from the website completely. But I don't make the rules.

This forum has been here and people with non-english backgrounds (myself included) have been able to properly express their thoughts without issues (no one minds grammatical errors on this forum as far as I'm aware) long before LLMs became mainstream.

So, personally, I don't see the sudden need of AI models to be the language and grammar guide. Besides, if someone with non-English background is engaging with this forum the bare minimum we can expect from them atleast a preliminary grasp of English.

Once again. We don't mind if people use AI as a tool to communicate.

We know the situation you are referencing and that was more or less a one off and there's no need to include a rule about it. Anyone deciding that letting AI generate their response to a dispute is really playing with fire if they want the dispute team to take them seriously.
