Progress report: Getting a site to #1 in google, then monetizing it offline

First things first, what niche to go for?

I live in the netherlands, and we have local search ads here, wich means that dentists and lawyers and such most likely wont work.

Thats why i decided to go for the body scan niche, something thats rising here in the netherlands, getting your body totally scanned for diseases.

I checked the keywords tool, and the keywords "total body scan" "total bodyscan" "bodyscan" and "totale body scan" amount to about 20k local searches per month.

The site that shows up on #1 on all those searches is www.privatescan.nl, it has about 600 backlinks.

I am planning to use xrumer to built links, as my keywords are actually english (though my site will be in dutch)

Today i purchased the domain www.totale-bodyscan.nl and uploaded WP on it, with every SEO plugin i could find

Forgot to say, the price of a scan ranges from 800-2500 euro's. so there is quite a profit margin there

===================================================================================

Second niche im going to try is fysiotherapy, also here in the netherlands, just registeres the domain fysiotherapieinbreda.nl

Lets see how this is going to work out

Are those local searches broad match or exact match?!

both, but local here means, the entire country

its only small, lol

do you understand the difference between broad and exact match?

I'm just trying to prevent any heartache that can come from using broad match.

yeah i do understand the difference.

After the first batch links was submitted yesterday, i am already starting to see results.

A google search on the name of the site totale-bodyscan.nl shows me @ 5th place

For the keyword total body scan i am at the 11th page

for the keyword totale body scan i am @ the 8th place

For the keyword total bodyscan i am @ the 2nd page

for the keyword totale bodyscan i am @ 5th place
Looking good!

Next step is a hrefer search for dutch forums, then blasting my links to there

Sofar, all my keywords are broad matches, they are most used

What do you mean by "local search ads"? I read a study that only 0.3% of people who use the internet for local searches use YellowPages-type directories online.

If people are searching Google, it will work.

i am talking about google, just citing the number google keywords tool gives for local search

Are you using Market Samurai to asses your competition?

See what kind of backlinks and other factors your competition has... don't worry about doing a XRumer blasts if your competition only has a 50 or so backlinks...

@pressfox, looking to get into offline work and liked your pointers; keep us posted here.

subscribed! I will be doing something similar as well and see how it goes. :)

I am using online, free backlink checkers, my main competitor has 600 backlinks.

I just finished another 10k blast, this time all in dutch, sofar my keywords give me:

Total body scan: 1st place on page 10, rose 1 page (it was halfway page 11)
Total bodyscan: 4th place on page 2, rose about 4 listings (it was at the bottom of page 2)
Totale bodyscan: 6th place on page 1, dropped 1 listing
Totale body scan: 10th place on page 1, dropped 2 listings

Sofar, so good, not strange my site is dropping, after all, the links most likely will be deleted again. Planning to add a new article to my site today to keep fresh content coming

Stats: 178 visitors the past 3 days, mostly from the links, no real visitors from google yet, but the stats last updated yesterday 14:00 pm, so that may come still

My term is currently on page #2. I've just social bookmarked and submitted the site to a list of directories using directorybot. The domain has the exact keyword term. The term has around 900 local search. The number of page links for the top 3 competitors are 645, 484, 102 and pr 4, 5 and 3 respectively.

I will be buying blog comments as well as profile links to push the listing to page #1 and eventually build more links to attempt to snatch one of the top 5 spots. Apparently for the niche and area I'm in, there aren't oo many bidders who I can upsell to.

Ill keep posting here to exchange ideas as well.

What's "lander"??

I've PM'ed you my niche.

Interesting approach Ive subscribed to your thread. When are you going to start the monetization? How are you planning to approach potential advertisers?

Just submitted my site to 547 software directories. Planned to add 20 Pr5+ sites, add another 150 profile links and finally at least 100+ blog comments.

There are 3 additional sites that are waiting to be promoted, but I'm gonna hold on those 3 and focus on the first site. I'm expecting the site to be on the front page no more then a week or two after the link campaign and I'll see how the site perform in terms of ranking. Currently I'm monitoring traffic right from the start and if I get at least 5 a day, then game on! ;)

good.. keep it up man.. dont forget to be consistent and keep on adding contents to your site and ulimately create backlinks to it.

Hey, I am from the netherlands as well :)
Also from breda :O

About your site:
Where are you going to post the ads?
In a blog post?
I dont really like this theme, its really old-fashioned...
But thats just my taste :p

Your sidebar is full of support links for WP, can you delete those?
Your names are also wierd, for example "Koppelingenblok"
I have never seen that name being used :P

I hope I helped you :)
