@VanguardFit , cloaker / cloaking is done only if running a niche which is restricted or not allowed to run. Otherwise cloaker / cloaking is not necessary.
Most affiliate offers prohibit the usage of their brand name in keywords, but may allow it in ad headlines and allow it in ad descriptions. However, an ad in that way, would not perform to well, may have to have high bids, etc.
So, one way is :-
Let us say your affiliate offer is about brand ABCD. And let us say you must not bid for ABCD, but you can use ABCD in ad headlines and ad descriptions.
In the above scenario, what works for me is : I will bid for the competitor brand of ABCD, let us say, that is EFGH, so the traffic I get is still targeted traffic. MY keywords will be about EFGH, but in ad headlines and ad descriptions, I will write something like "Learn more about EFGH", etc (be creative, do not be too comparative in the wordings tone in ad headlines and ad descriptions), then have the landing page comparing EFGH with ABCD, showing how ABCD is much better than EFGH.
The above way, keyword bids will not have to be on the higher side, because of good relevance between keywords, ad headlines, ad descriptions & landing page.
Another way is to run an effectively cloaked campaign : In the given example above : Target keywords EFGH, have appropriate ad headlines and ad descriptions and cloaker safe page about EFGH, cloaker money page about ABCD : In such a case, keyword bids may have to be on a higher side.
Other strategies are also there, which MAY be shared by perhaps some other member(s), if they feel comfortable sharing their strategic blackhat techniques.
