Seems to be only demo software... did you find any REAL apps inthere?

Depends on what purposes you are looking for when you are trying to program... depends if you are aiming for the artsy side, data entry, or functionality. I learned programming for functionality for example, so I became more interested with javascript, python, C#, stuff like that, but really depends on what you want to learn.
