Hello, its been a while since my last visit here. I had a website as well as multiple instagram accounts on a daily bot schedule. I had quit it all, for I had no money and no job, as well as being underage, now I am of age, and have a stable income, also a university student of ethical hacking with python background.
My question is, what would be the smartest move for a python programmer to start making money online. At first I though of android apps, but what else could it be?

let give some input...
you said have bot instagram and know about python... just scale it up..
how about make your bot become web base ?
build with django framework and let user pay you become a member..
in other word.. make instabot membership web base.. better than py desktop to avoid rev enginer.
 
the bot I have is a followliker, not mine, but I see where you coming from. I would need something that can be automated, because I want to focus on my studies and work, this would only be a second income. But that bot idea is not bad at all as I can see it being automated to a certain extend.
 
I was always curious about Python programming and what it can do, I think you can code bots and hack websites right? Though ethical hacking I know it, its cool!

Maybe you can scrape things and set up auto blog, I can still see many such info sites these days.

I program in Ruby, which is somewhat similar to Python. Much like OP, I'm in the same position of not really knowing where to use my Ruby experience, except for scaling up my Twitter productions.

But yes, programmers of both Ruby and Python can code bots.... I'm not too sure about hacking websites though ;)

programming and hacking are 2 different things ....
 
programming is what some people like to call backbone of hacking, if you want to be elite hacker, you need programming experience, to create your own tools, and python is good for this, easy language that enables you to create quick tools on the go.

android apps are mostly in java or native in javascript. best things you can code are automized things. Make some bucks with one method manually. and then automate things. scale it up etc.
 
I do have some newbie experience with java as i did it in college, thing is I cannot see what I could possibly automate that would generate an income, I mean I dont even know where to start.
 
i recommend to read some stuff in bhw. you can scrape some information from the web and put it on a website. or you can create a service that other people can use.

I second this, though I am a noob of coding, 0 knowledge of it. I can see many websites built by automation, for example, HD windows background images sites, directories etc, I am 100% sure some sites used some automate way to build, envy but I just cant do it lol.

I do ethical hacking and management, so we learn how to be a white hat as well as a black hat so we can use the black hat techniques for protection, we also learn the business side, and how to operate security in a business, we learn the psychology side of it, for e.g. what leads people to do what they do online (hacking), we learn programming, laws, digital forensics and some more. its a very diverse course.
 
in my opinion, thats the way to go. imagine you have a task thats bring you 1$. Automate this task scale it to 1000 and earn 1000$.

bring that online. its good for reputation. i love to learn new things. especialy when it comes to pentest and python.
 
Many times when you want to make money the right approach is to make a reverse engineering of your well-established competitors. So you want to make money with Android apps? My suggestion would be to you go in sites like flippa.com and see what the top-performance apps are doing right.

You already have some programming knowledge. To make Android apps you should learn Java or, my recommendation, learn C# and develop using Xamarin. With Xamarin platform you could develop in C# and build apps for Android, iOS, WP, etc...

Thanks for the tips, my personal website I plan on releasing when I have graduated and everything that I've used to become successful will be there, so it will be valuable website in future.
@BrPimp - Im portuguese, got my family in brazil, thats my uncles that was born there name, I'ved used it since i was 8 because I was paranoid of using my personal details haha. I've been living in the UK for 8 years now.

Got it, I love Portugal, especially the beaches. I'm a C# and Java programmer, I have some knowledge about hacking techniques also, if you need some help or want to discuss some ideas just PM me. Would be great discuss ideas with a fellow Portuguese speaker.
