I just wanted to recommend this article for reading.
It is kind of off-topic, but I could not avoid remembering BHW when I saw that headline :P

I cannot post a link to any page here as I am pretty much a n00b, but just google for
Programmer creates 800,000 books algorithmically, starts selling them on Amazon


How crazy is that? O.o'

Yes, I am not sure if it is the same that what you are talking about, but a guy scraped Wikipedia articles and started to send them on Amazon and other big guys. It is all automatic but now he is having a problem with lawsuits over 8 millions.
 
Yeah, I thought about that too.

I mean, his tool does automatic research and composes many pages of writing. But they are basically a frankenstein of other people's work.
Tell me about plagiarism, in levels never seen before..
 
If only he gave away his software, then we could perhaps create rich content sites in no time :).
 
That thing got me thinking..

Creating entire books like he did is pretty hard due o semantics and cohesion. A lot of machine learning there.
I think that developing a software that "creates musics" would be much easier to be developed.

Its core would be how to define rules that indicate wether a music sounds good or not, a lot of machine learning there too, but much easier than what he did.
However, such computer generated musics would have no singer at all :P


Supposing such software was developed, to create random music which sound somewhat good, do you know how that could be monetized?
Selling on iTunes would not be an option I guess, or would it? Random musics there would not be known and hence not downloaded..
