Profiting From Crypto Game

you don't need to create a full game to sell your token, only a simple demo and a good marketing strategy, when investors and partners buy your token, then you can pay other developers to finish your project

That is true, but then you have to be a marketing god or launch a good kickstarter. But then I have seen plenty of games taking that route just to fail miserably when they actually try to create the game, simply because they underestimated the actual work and skill needed to launch a game.

I have only worked as a developer for 7 years, but for me, to create even a simple game would take months of full time work. And that's without the blockchain stuff. There are certainly developers more experienced and better at creating games and blockchain games but I still believe it will take much longer than people think.

But I agree with you (if I didn't misunderstood you) that these crypto games are more marketing than actually developing good game.
I am not too sure about developing the game exactly. I just assume the games that are 2D shouldn't take too long to develop. Of cuz I might be underestimating the time needed!

Just attaching a picture of the game for better examples.

Imaginary game I created: Mining Fantasy(MF)

[Picture from Runescape, a 2D MMORPG game from 15years ago]

Initial Gameplay:
- buy lootbox to get a pickaxe like common/uncommon/rare/super rare/secret rare/legendary/godlike
- mine rocks with random chance to get different types of ores like copper/tin/coal/silver/gold/diamond with random drops of MF Token
- rocks will only last 2 hours, regen to full takes 2 hours

Future Gameplay: >not really needed if tokenomics is successful<
- ores can be smelted into weapons
- weapons can be sold on marketplace
- pvp among players with 2d fight (pic below)

1639689790397.png

Tokenomics: to model bombcrypto tokenomics as it is quite good and sustainable
- 3-500USD to buy lootboxes
- players mine ores to get MF tokens
- when cashing out game owner take a 3% fee
- there's a lock-in period when you start, so it takes about 2 weeks on average like most p2e games before u cash out any $
- so the money will recycle itself with new players coming in and old players taking profits or even scaling their operations

Overall summary:
- The graphics is just an example, it of cuz can even be more 2D/UGLY since its like a new crypto trend nowadays to be fugly.
- For the p2e, it can be simple and a little automated, we just have to make them stay active once every few hours
- loot boxes = addictive in general and proven to work

Questions:
So instead of being a player, I was thinking to CREATE a game like this since I have seen the traction of such games are huge if the tokenomics is sustainable for $. I am just doing an initial research to see if there's any expert opinion.

Is any game developers interested in chip in to see how far we can take this? How long it will take? Do you think it will work? How much will it cost for the initial?

I think this P2E model is better than creating 10k different pics NFT since its more sustainable.

hey there, i am not, i am a marketer by trade.

main purpose of this post is to get insights to see if there's any game/crypto developer here that can provide some insights and also to find out the costs accordingly.

if there's very high cost, could do like funding rounds external or internal, of cuz these are just thoughts for now.

everything is just a business model till its executed correctly, since bombcrypto is just a re-spin of an old game thats producing 3-4m for the dev on a monthly basis and growing.

I'm a developer and a hobby game developer.

Bomb Crypto is a very well done game, don't let the art fool you. That's pixel art and its a lot harder than it looks, you have to have a pixel art artist and they are just as costly and time consuming as any other type of game artist. The game it self also looks fairly complete and well executed, its not something someone has thrown together in a week or two. You are looking at several months of development with a team of a couple of developers and artist. And then you have the whole crypto part of it that I haven't even taken into account.

Funding such a project won't be easy either, look at kickstarter to see what a game demo or concept looks like. Having a game idea and having a demo or concept for a game is like night and day. This might be easier for a crypto game since there's a lot of hype around it now, but if you are not after a scam I still believe funding it will require more than a game idea.

Hey there, very good insight.

This is definitely a stretch as I just want to see how tough the pathway is!

Can someone help with list of paying NFT GAMES recent I'll like to know if they are many bc most NFT/CRYPTO games I knew require purchase of token.

Not too sure what you mean, are you asking if there's any free 2 play game?

crypto games are ponzis.
the last ones are going to pay the bills so keep in mind to be not in the end phase

So you want to make money as game creators. Making a game is not hard but how will you market it. It can take millions to properly market the game. Do you have the funds?

Making the game is harder than marketing the game. I think saying you need millions to market is an overstatement.

As the word spread, as long as 1 p2e player cashout, they will be spreading it. Using the game that I am playing as example, now I dont think they r doing any marketing as they have few thousands new players daily. The hard part would just be the initial stages of the game.

true and i bet nft games will boom next year.
atm most nft game is in it simple form. we will get AAA quality or very fun play 2 earn game next year

So there's a huge hype about gaming crypto coins, so Axie is huge and I am a sleeping investor with only 10 teams as I do not really bother to go learn the game and keep up with all the meta as there's abit skills involved.

However there's more automated and simple games like bombcrypto where you can just just have to click a few buttons which takes 5mins every 2-3 hours and make $20 a day off a 30mins effort.

The gameplay is where u open lootboxes and get bombers, bombers will help u to clear the chest where u earn the tokens which is $. U just have to keep them active and replenish them every 2-3 hours.

Why the game is addictive?
1) it makes $
2) there's lootboxes which keep it entertaining(chance to get good items = addictive, remember games like maplestory where kids are maxing their parents' cc and adults spending 20-30k themselves)
3) its play to earn and pay to earn model

Of cuz there's some risks like the developers might be rugging... Developers are known and this game is relatively safe with over 300k addresses now and the tokenomics is quite sustainable as money recycles itself with new players coming in.

---

Which leads me to my next point...

If simple games like bombcrypto is working, it can just be based off 1 skill and be made into a game...

I used to play runescape last time, it was a 2d game where there are various skills like fighting pvc pvp, mining, fishing, crafting and others.

Example of simple web based game: Mining Fantasy(MF)

1) open lootbox with pickaxe from common, uncommon, rare, ultra rare, super rare
2) few click automated mining at the rocks which takes 1hr to deplete and 2 hours to regen, when you mine something might have a chance to earn a MF token
3) use MF token to buy more lootbox to get better pickaxe

This is of cuz a very drastic simplification of the game and the owners just make a 3% on the cashout and any fees associated eg future marketplace or pvp comeptitions.

I am not an expert in this field, but i am thinking there's lots of profits to be made from this. I am actually interested in running a game like this. Happy to hear any experts insights!
Fking genious, loved MF Idea, I can do the smart contract stuff btw. Hit me up If you want help hiring devs and get started making MF.

Next Axie can give huge returns. But so many people copied their idea that it is hard to find more genuine projects.
