profitable keyword?

I have been doing some homework and i think i have come across a fantastic niche. however.....

38k monthly searches ppc of $3 traffic travis is calling it relatively easy to rank for. All good right? jumping for joy right?

what i am wondering is this. Let's say the niche is "fight club" which gets 100k searches and is difficult to rank but I am looking to use the keyword "fighting club" which gets the 38k monthly and is relatively easy. It is the same niche but the "ING" takes it from difficult to relatively easy.

Am I still jumping for joy?

You really have to take info from these programs into consideration with other factors. For instance a keyword phrase may be difficult to rank for however it may be imperative to your business in which case you may have no choice but to rank for it. You should also note that search algorithms look for variations of words that may be relevant to a user's query so just because you are using a keyword phrase that is deemed less competitive doesn't necessarily mean your site will only show up when that phrase is typed. For example sites using "fight club" could still beat you in search for "fighting Club" if they have used that variation in their content or if they are more competitive in other areas such as backlinks, social signals, or onsite factors.

Check if google considers both the word as a synonym. And it actually is. So there is a very good chance of the competitor ads without thine "ing" words to still rank high. After all they are the same word.
