I dont know if anyone has discovered this but its something I thought of and do.

When I join any forum I keep the same username and have done so for well over a year. I typed my username into Google recently and the 1st few pages had all of my forum accounts come up as links. So i thought to myself why not start registering on forums using a short tail keyword for one of my sites so thats what i have started doing. Its prob only worth while for forums where you can put keyword links in your profile. Whether it works or not I dont know but its what Im doing.

Another thing i discovered recently - pinging your profile page. Yesterday i registered with
    "http://ssis.wik.is/"

I put my keyword links in my profile page and then tried to ping these links using RSS submit. At 1st it said it couldnt find RSS feeds so i selected the option to look for it. It found it and went off and submitted my profile page to all the RSS engines. Dunno if its useful - maybe you guys can advise.

Yes, this tactic does work but its the same as make web 2.0 sites using your keywords. Usually web 2.0 sites will have a better CTR to your money page as well.

using keywords for you username will make your profile stand out more to the site owner. So there might be more chance of getting deleted......although i suppose i depends on your keywords.
Overall it may just be better to stay under the radar and collect long standing backlinks

You don't need to use a keyword for your name since it's not a link. like the previous poster said it's better to stay under the radar.

Keywords as a username is completely waste,If it is a Profile Backlink means it will be more useful but the Keywords as a Username is not so worth..Think it of and get a safer backlinks...

I have seen number of time these blackhat seo tactic is work well with very competitive keywords such as; buy viagra online, buy viagra, weigh loss and so on.

It's about few days rank on google and sometimes 1 week (short lives) but
hey...why not to do that. I am satisfied with this tactic. Get the money and go leech another forum profile. Rinse and repeat!

If you can make it look natural, go for it. I am having great success with it, but the keyword I've been doing this with works great as a forum nickname too.
