I want to know profile backlink really help for ranking in SERP in nowadays. Are these even worth it anymore? or dead. Profile link form edu site and high authority site they help to rank before 2 years ago.

it depends. if the website is good and you get traffic from your links (if someone is clicking on them) then maybe it will give some ranking benefit. But if it's just one of those forum profile links with your website in it then chances are no. Profile links were hit badly many years ago with some panda update or something. They are usually considered low quality backlinks.

agree with this answer, better use blogpost and contextual link than profile link

Yes, profile backlinks gives you some diversity to your link building. It is still helpful in ranking.
