Hi guys, just wanted to share this method which has worked well for me. Also, I did a quick search to see if anyone's posted something similar and did not find anything, so forgive me in advance if many of you know this in advance.

I am not a morning person whatsoever, but I realize the importance of getting work done early on. This sets you up for the rest of your day. If you plan your tasks the day before and manage to get up early, you're setting yourself up for success.

I manage to get up at 5am every single day. By 5:30am latest I am grinding in whatever it is I need to accomplish that day.

Set up 2 alarms on your phone. Alarm 1 will be set at 4am. The night before, next to your phone, leave a glass of water, and 1-2 caffeine pills. They can be purchased on Amazon or pretty much anywhere. 100mg's should do the trick, especially if you're starting out. Wake up, take the pills, drink the water, and go back to sleep. It will be mildly annoying at best since you don't have to leave your bed.

Alarm #2 will be set for 4:50 or 5am. By this time, your body will have had time to process the caffeine. You will be in a lighter state of sleep. When your alarm goes off, you will be wired, ready to go. If you managed to finish the glass of water, you will also have a strong urge to use the restroom. 2 for 1. You're up, you're awake, you can work. Go.

Needless to say that over time you will develop tolerance. Caffeine blocks adenosine channels, which is what naturally makes us feel sleepy and tired, among other things. The body will upregulate these adenosine channels, building up your tolerance, and making you sleepy even though you're taking the pills. You can scale back for a week or so to reset this, and then try again.

I think this is common sense, but common sense isn't all too common so allow me to say this. This is not medical advice, I'm simply stating something that has worked for me and may work for you. Don't do this if you're caffeine sensitive, have heart issues, hypertension, or any other health condition. For most people, especially if you already drink coffee, this can be a neat way to tricking your body into waking up fully alert.

Cheers.

This sounds like a way to fuck your sleep for good. I don't think I will be productive not getting enough sleep.

Better would be to get at least 7-9 hours of sleep and waking up without alarms once your body is adapted to waking up at certain time.

Exercise & diet also play a part in productivity. Eat lots of vegetables & fruits, nuts & seeds, drink lots of water, get enough sunlight, brisk walk 10000 steps and do some strength training.

This wouldn’t fuck up your sleep. It would allow you to get up earlier, have a productive morning, and tackle tasks. Undoubtedly you’d get sleepier earlier and head to bed earlier.

You can also fit everything you stated into your day, and will provide some benefit.

Both things can be true.

I would try it for a short period of time, but for a long time I would be afraid to get addicted to and wouldn't be able to wake up easily without caffeine pills

nice thread, not much of a morning person myself but will give this a go soon and let u know how it does
