Hey guys!

Firstly my apologies to mods if this is in the wrong place although it seemed like the most appropriate place...please feel free to move it to a better sub forum if need be...

...and without further ado...

So I'm not new to IM at all...my problem is that I have tried (what seems like) everything over the course of many years and still not made a dime online...

I can code and just about the only thing I haven't tried is making my own product...I have a couple of ideas that would target businesses but I don't really wanna spend weeks making something that nobody ends up using...

So my question is...how do I find out if people will like my idea without giving it away and before I start working on creating something?

I was thinking of maybe getting some kind of survey online that people could fill out but then I thought...people don't just fill out surveys for nothing so that's probably gonna fail and short of actually calling up businesses that might be interested in what I want to make which could take a lot of time and also be pretty fruitless I don't really know what else to do in this regard?

Anybody got any suggestions?

Cheers!

Usally you come up with sonethink that peopke need to use know .

and then build on it and ask
The users that install it what features to add Afther the app is finished then charge for it.

One payment or monthly.

account creators are well wonted.
Email creators
Social media creators

Time saving apps are always wanted.

Thanks for this but I think you misunderstand my question...I'm not really looking for ideas (although if anyone wants to share their idea for a million dollar app then please feel free to pm me :p)

My question is...what is the best way to find out if there is any interest in what I want to make...

Thanks again!

You'll have to identify if your product SOLVES a problem. Let's take, for instance, sunglasses: they protect you from the sun during hot, sunny days. They solve a problem, that's why they exist, essentially.
So, will your product solve a problem that people face? Will it help increase productivity or maybe even entertain your clients?
Before starting working on ANY PRODUCT you'll have to have some answers to these questions. A product is a SOLUTION TO A PROBLEM. (obviously there are exceptions, when you create a need for something people wouldn't even expect of using, but that's another story).

Good luck!

Thanks! That actually helps quite a lot!

So if I can answer that question myself how do I go about seeing if my idea is any good and if people will like it?

Well, you should know your target market. Let's say your target is fat people. Most of them want to lose weight, right? So your product will have to give these guys a solution and make them slimmer. If even 10% of customers manage to lose weight with your product, they WILL love it!
Same goes for any other niche: bikers may want the best road helmet out there, vegans may need the best quinoa recipe book and solo travelers will absolutely love an app that gives them real time travel deals and accommodation offers. You'll just have to carefully determine what your market is and how they would react to your product: try to connect with your potential customers on forums, chat groups or reddit, facebook...

Good luck again, you'll have a lot of work to do!

Now this is the answer I was looking for haha...and I feel like a bit of an idiot for not thinking of it before...if you want peoples opinions get involved in the social networks!

EDIT:

Just had a look on facebook and theres a tonne of groups in the niche im interested in to ask...a good place to start!

Thanks again!
