Problems with SEO titles

Not so far but others told me it did affect them.

I am seeing totally messed up SEO titles, both ours and the competition, especially in brand reviews. For example if the SEO title is "Nike sneakers - the best sneakers for 2021" Google is showing something like "Sneakers for 2021" and that's it, even if the search query is "Nike sneakers". Not sure yet if is affecting the rankings as many competitors are fucked up as well, but damn those are ugly titles, totally ruining the CTR.

Hey guys,

Did you notice Google fuck up your SEO titles recently? Like missing keywords, entirely abandoning them and using H1 instead etc?
Yep. The H1 with dashes in between each word is being used as title for top ranking pages somehow.

Yes, majority of the sites have experienced this in the past week or so.
No doubt, it's affecting CTR

I don't know what is the objective Google have in its mind for doing this shit. It really affects the search experience. I am encountering shit titles.

When Google continues to go this route, it seems like another measure for pushing their ad revenue imo.

I think they see that a lot of people are skipping the ads to dive directly into the organic SERPs.

Maybe they want to experiment with formatting the organic results like the ads.

In Google Ads, you're very limited to what you can put in the title = 3 titles / 90 chars total.

Most of the time just the first 2 titles are showing up, so it's 60 in many cases.

That might be a disadvantage for the advertisers vs. publishers.

As mentioned, they made some weird changes.

Mostly now using H tags, but they can also use image alt text etc, which is making for some pretty strange title tags.

There going the way of the meta description, and I don't like it.

Don't waste your time worrying about it, they can change to whatever they want really, even their own ai description one day maybe!

Well I want to fix it. :D Changing the title seems to help a bit ..

They are testing a new algorithm of title generation, it is not known whether it will remain so forever or it is just a beta test.

Just checked my titles.

Review articles of mine that looked like this:

{Product} Review - The Best {Product Type}?

Now look like this:

The Best {Product Type}?

Wow! That is some serious crap!
