Hello everyone, I have a question regarding Instagram names. I'm trying to change my name, but it says the name is already taken. When I search for that profile, it says the profile with that name doesn't exist. How is that possible?

It is possible the name has been reserved but not activated. Why not choose a different name or contact Instagram support?

Maybe that account is deactivated right now by the user but its already taken so you cannot use it

The person could be banned or decided to deactivate their account.

If one username is taken by a user, it will never be given to any other user despite the fact that if previous user's account was disabled or deactivated. You can choose a different username.

It is deactivated account, just go with another username, problem solve mate!

It might be deactivated by the account owner, so the username is hidden, but it is for sure reserved for that account and cannot be taken by others.

Or the account might be banned recently.
