Problem with importing old profiles in Dragon NaturallySpeaking

I have been using a torrented version of DNS for some time for writing articles, and it's a really great way to write articles fast. I trained my profile so that it could recognize whatever I said fairly quickly, and I spent quite some time training it to learn my voice.

I recently reinstalled Windows (after exporting my DNS profile). Now when I try to import my old DNS profile it says that it's successfully imported and the profile folder appears in the default profile location. But it doesn't actually show up in the list of profiles in the "manage profiles" window so that I can use it! The list is empty! (But creating a new profile works as usual, but I don't want to go through the hassle of training it again).

Has anyone else experienced this problem with importing old profiles? Is this a problem only with the torrented version?

LOL! I know exactly what you're talking about. It's 100% a problem with the torrent. I downloaded the same exact torrent (I think it was kickass but it could have been piratebay) and had the same problem + user profiles randomly getting deleted for no reason.

I uninstalled, reinstalled about 2 more times and had the same problem. What was really weird. It would work fine for like a month then out of nowhere the profiles stopped working or just outright vanished and I was like "wtf".

About 3 months later I bought a new pc, with a windows 7 operating system instead of xp. I tried installing the same torrent on that PC, and I have NO IDEA WHY but it works perfectly. No problem with importing profiles and no problems with profiles randomly getting deleted.

So the bad news is I do not think you'll be able to fix this problem unless you test other torrents, or install it on a different computer.... or god forbid just buy the software lol. I may be wrong but I think you can get it for under $100.

@BreaknBrix Looks like DNS 13 was recently released and the torrent for it is out as well. I will download and install it and see if the problem persists. If it does, I guess I will go ahead and buy the software like you said!
