just learnt that i was suffering from "paralysis by analysis", so decided to follow meathead's noob friendly method.
here is my problem- i bought a domain from godaddy (let it be domain.com) when i type domain.com in search bar of chrome, it takes me to my site but when i type www.domain.com in same search bar and press enter, then it takes me to some crappy image portal. I tried contacting godaddy and they said that www from my domain's DNS settings was missing and said that they have added it and problem will be solved within 1 hour, it is now more than 5 hours and nothing changed. Can here anyone please tell me how to do that manually. Many many thanks in advance !

Sometimes it take little bit more to propagate. I once waited for 2-3 days for a NS to be fully propagated.

If you are running Windows,

Press Windows Key + R, or open Run, and type cmd and press enter.

In the CMD window, enter ipconfig /flushdns

You will probably have your website working fine rightaway.

Its just propagation.. Don't worry. In my experience, the maximum NameServer propagation of my websites only take 24 hours or less.
