Hi, I have previously been doing affiliate marketing through my blogs and via web 2.0.s which worked pretty well. Recently, I've been trying out list building. I bought a new domain, and wrote a report (20 pages ish), signed up for Aweber and made a landing page. The problem is that I haven't had a single person to opt-in. My landing page is a simple landing page with a good headline, a few bullet points to the left and an opt-in box to the right. Everything is above the fold. So, could it be my traffic (Youtube/Tumblr/Facebook), or my landing page? I have previously had bad experiences with running affiliate links on Tumblr: people love to click, but they are not in a 'buying mood'. I figured since this report will only cost them their e-mail, they would opt-in, but no. Also, this traffic is less targeted. I have previously sold tons of stuff from Youtube with no problem though. Will a blog with an opt-in convert better than a landing page with an opt-in? Maybe to establish more autohority. Also, I have tried to search the forums, but is there a FAQ or introductory thread to email marketing? Thanks

IMO a good blog with an opt-in converts better. But the problem could also be that you are not getting targeted traffic.
