That's pretty odd OP. I have the 5S and everything is fine...did you update the app or your phone already?

That's weird, I'm on the same firmware of iPhone 5s as well, and also on the latest Instagram update, maybe try deleting and re-installing it? I've never heard of this problem, also try closing the apps in multi-tasking, I've noticed my phone gets hot when I have too many apps open for too long...
Also, try restarting your phone as well, and if all else fails, watch videos on the web app

I think fault on your Iphone Version Upgrade. I think better to use Nexus - "Google" Product.

No problem at all with Instagram and iphone 5s. Try reinstallling the app or/and updating iOS firmware. Also check if you have any demanding apps sitting in background or some nasty stuff installed from Cydia. Taking device from the case may also help to reduce temperature.

make sure there aren't a crapload of apps running in the background of your phone. It may not be instagram, it may be a combination of things running at the same time on your iphone
