Proactively selling already ranking pages: someone is doing that?

I can't find journeys or articles that talk about it, I can't understand why shouldn't work.

My idea:
1 - Find and select informative articles from my network that I do not monetize with affiliations (cuz they sell a service or there is not the product on amz). Articles must have good mo/volume or some kw in top 3
2 - Contact sites that offer services in that niche and propose them to put a banner or a contextual link, with MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION

If I select 10 articles from my network and propose the link placement at 30-40 $ per month... I have 300$-400$ easy recurring. This is scalable. I can also consider to sell same article to more sites, or sell the exclusivity at higher price.

I know: many businesses are local and may not understand the value of a strong contextual link (which is why I was thinking of proposing a mini interview to insert in the article, instead of a link).

Did anyone get rich this way?

This is also known as rank and rent. Lots of people already doing it.

I see a lot of r&r SITES, I am talking about renting links on single pages from generalist sites

It's still technically rank and rent because you have to "rank" before you can "rent". Anyways, it should work. I don't know how easy it'll be to get clients though. Goodluck.
