Has anyone had any luck with Voicemail Boadcasts. I do niche marketing and can scrape every biz in any niche to get numbers. Was thinking of doing a sunday night VM blast with a tested message to get calls back into my office. Looking for software that would do this. I found a wso a few months back that did this with openvbx and twilio. But can not seem to find it again. I think this could be great for B2B inbound leads. Any ideas or advice would be helpful.

"Hi this is __name__ calling may I speak with the owner?"

This is the worst opening line you could say and you'll sound like a 14 year old kid who doesn't know what he's doing. "Hi, White House, may I speak with the President?" Aside from sounding ridiculous, why do you think you're important enough to talk to the owner if you don't know his name? If you aren't asking by name, the receptionist/operator will know this and 'take a message,' which will result in the message being passed to the owner with 'oh, he was just some guy calling. probably not important.' *throws message in garbage*

Try:
"This is Generic Business how may I direct your call?"
"Yes my name's _____ I'm with _____ may I speak with [human resources/hiring manager/shipping manager/office manager/the person who is in charge of xyz]" (they'll always ask who you are and who you're with if you don't say it right off the bat. this will sound sharp.)

I just say "Hi this is __name__ calling may I speak with the owner?" Some people are just going to shoot you down right there. you just have to get over that and onto the next number as someone will find your services valuable. it's purely a numbers game.

If the owner is out just say "Oh man I'm about to step into a meeting as well and rather than get caught up in the whole phone tag game I can try them later if you expect them in? Yes/No/Whatever Ok who should I ask for?" now when you return the call you can ask for the owner by name and escape trying to get around the secretary.

I like the fact that you mention taking notes on voicemai messages. I often have very cold lists without the principle's name, and I make a list of those without and call them all at 2AM the night before to get VM before I call to pitch them, now with name in hand
