Hello,

got a person I have a personal vendetta with. She runs an abysmal business and has either „convinced“ (i.e. manipulated) a few „customers“ to give positive reviews or something similar, and removes negative reviews on Google Places and another review site.

Any advice on how to (legally) counter her strategy? Getting those reviews flagged or something?

What is your "personal vendetta"?

There is not much you can do "legally" as posting fake reviews (negative or positive) is not legal. It sounds like she may be breaking TOS herself if she is manipulating positive reviews and deleting negative reviews. Not enough info to know for sure...

From what you say it looks like all those reviews are from real people with real accounts. In that case I don't think anything can be done. Unlike this forum I don't think any of those platforms are going to dig deeper to verify each of those reviews if you report/flag them.
My suggestion be it a competitor or the vendetta thing it's only going to waste your precious time. Try to outrank or just move on.

I think buying more positive reviews will cost you less than going on a legal action

Any way to get my negative review (which was deleted) back online? Already ranking on page one with a site dedicated to countering her / his bullshit but Google Places obviously outranks me.

In business don't try to beat the competition try to satisfy your customer and innovate so that your end product/service is the best eventually you will be the 1st. Or just copy her strategy and use it yourself

Seems she will get away with massively abusing people in her „business“. Sad days.
